2020 Virtual Business Meeting Committee Reports
MoATA Committee Reports docx
For many of us, our AT meetings are a time to reconnect, rejuvenate, and celebrate our colleagues. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 outbreak has other plans for our profession this year.
2020 MoATA Annual Meeting & Symposium Cancelled
After discussions with the University Plaza Hotel and monitoring the Greene County Health Department recommendations, we have cancelled the 2020 Annual Meeting & Symposium. Our plans moving forward include:
- MoATA Virtual Business Meeting: Saturday, May 30th 12:00 PM on Go To Meeting
- 2021 MoATA Annual Meeting & Symposium at the University Plaza Hotel June 4-5, 2021
- Creation of an online / on-demand CEU platform this summer
The Virtual Business Meeting instructions will be sent out in the next few weeks. Please note that the Go To Meeting platform will have a limited capacity and will be password protected.
It has been several years since we updated our Bylaws and several areas of clarification were needed. The proposed changes can be found HERE. The proposed changes will be discussed during the Virtual Business Meeting on May 30th and subsequently voted on by the membership in June by electronic vote.
2020 MoATA Honors & Award Recipients
It is with great pleasure to announce our two award recipients:
MoATA Sports Medicine Hall of Fame: Patty Dinges, Blue Springs South High School
Glen L. McElroy Outstanding Service Award: Brian Hughes, University of Central Missouri
Due to the meeting cancellation, we will celebrate our 2020 award winners next year in Springfield. Please take a moment to congratulate our colleagues!
Missouri Athletic Trainers’ Political Action Committee (MOAT-PAC)
During the Annual Meeting, we rely on fundraisers, silent auctions, and “pass the hat” donations to fund our PAC. The PAC provides financial support to legislators who have been key to our legislative agenda in Jefferson City. If you have the means to donate the PAC, please reach out to Eric McDonnell, PAC Treasurer at mcdonnellD@missouri.edu.
MoATA Facebook Live with NATA Presidential Candidates
MoATA will be hosting a Facebook Live event featuring the two candidates for the next NATA President: Katie Walsh Flanagan and Kathy Dieringer. If you have a question for the two candidates, submit it to MissouriATA@gmail.com. If you will not be able to attend the live event, the recording will be available on our Facebook page. This is your opportunity to ask the future leader of our profession what matters most to you as an AT in Missouri!
