MoATA is asking all members to verify their NPI number – that is the National Provider Identifier. If you do not yet have your NPI, please click on the link below to obtain your number. It does not matter where you work or if you bill for services. It does matter that you are counted among the athletic trainers practicing in the United States.
“NATA views having an NPI number like having a state license: it’s a professional requirement and adds credibility to both the individual and the profession,” says Cate Brennan, director of external affairs. “Once ATs get their NPI number, it will be theirs forever — no matter where they work. There’s no downside to having an NPI number.” Applying for an NPI number is quick, easy and free.
The NPI is a 10-position, intelligence-free numeric identifier (10-digit number). This means that the numbers do not carry other information about healthcare providers, such as the state in which they live or their medical specialty.

MAATA is also seeking volunteers for the Annual Meeting.
Each education session requires a moderator, and either one or two room representatives. The first room rep will be responsible for the following: opening doors to allow attendees to enter the room, closing the doors at the start of the presentation, a room count to be performed ten minutes after start time as well as report back any room temperature issues, AV problems, or other issues with the room to the speaker ready room. The Moderator is responsible for meeting the speaker in the speaker ready room at least 15 minutes before the start time, pick up a script to be read, a speaker gift, and a bottle of water for the speaker.
Thank you for volunteering for the 2018 MAATA Annual Meeting! We expect 800+ attendees this year and it would not be possible without a significant number of volunteers to assist with Registration, AV Set Up, and Tickets for Lunch, Dinner & Social Activities. There are blocks of time as small as 60 minutes up to 90 minutes.
On behalf of the MAATA Annual Meeting Planning Committee, we thank you for your help to make the 2018 meeting a success!
