SPORTS MEDICINE HALL OF FAME CRITERIAI. Team physician for high school, college, or pro teams A. Minimum of 20 years as the team doctor. B. Licensed physician that provides medical coverage for a high school, college or pro team within the state of Missouri. C. Dedicated service and contributions beyond the call of duty.
II. NATA Certified trainer; high school, college or pro team. A. Minimum of 15 years as a NATA certified athletic trainer within the State of Missouri. B. Member of 15 years as a NATA certified athletic trainer within the State of Missouri. C. Registered athletic trainer within the State of Missouri. D. Dedicated service and contributions beyond the call of duty.
III. Special Category A. Prominent personality in sports medicine within the State of Missouri. 1. Contributions in athletic training. 2. Contributions in service. 3. Resident of Missouri for minimum of 20 years.
PROCEDURE FOR INDUCTEE INTO THE MISSOURI ATHLETIC TRAINERS ASSOCIATION SPORT MEDICINE HALL OF FAME
I. Qualify under one of the sections listed I, II, or III from the criteria. II. The possible inductee will have a sponsor who is NATA certified, member of the Missouri Athletic Trainers Association and registered as an athletic trainer in the State of Missouri. III. Sponsor will be responsible for the compiling all data to support the inductee’s qualifications. The possible inductee should not be aware of investigation or sponsorship if at all possible. IV. The sponsor will present material both in written form and an oral presentation to the Hall of Fame Committee for consideration of his possible inductee. V. Upon presentation of material to the Hall of Fame Committee the inductee must receive two-thirds of the yes votes of the Hall of Fame Committee. This vote is on a written ballot and the voting is not to exceed 14 days after sponsor’s presentation.
