Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers, health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Athletic Training Student SectionThe mission of the MoATA Athletic Training Student Leadership Council is to promote student involvement by increasing knowledge about the athletic training profession in a younger population, enhancing communication among its members, increasing educational opportunities, developing leadership skills, and furthering the athletic training profession within MoATA Student Leadership Council Policy and Procedures

(View the program here) The MoATA SLC is proud to have played a part in planning the first annual Missouri Educator's Conference, Student Section, & Quiz Bowl this February. Currently, the council is preparing for the 2013-2014 Executive Board Elections & welcoming new members to replace graduating seniors. The council also has been given the opportunity to plan a student social at the annual MoATA meeting this June! If you have any questions/concerns/ideas, please email your institution's student representative today!
